THE WHITE SOFA DEBATE

I recently inherited a sofa. Its a little dated, it needs to have the arms re-shaped and be re-upholstered in general, but its a free sofa! I have free range on how to give it new life and immediately my thoughts go to white fabric (not very shocking). For me, a fresh coat of white paint, white fabric, white sheets can make anything feel new, clean, crisp, luxurious. And it would look great in my living room along with my patterned rug, neutral upholstery and patterned pillows. But lets cut to the chase- who can actually get away with white sofas? People with no kids, no pets, and clean freak boyfriends? And then you tie in the fact that we usually have a foster dog here. Some pups come with manners while others are learning to not jump on furniture. Hmmm, my options seem limited, but a girl can still dream, right?
