AND I'M BACK..

Hi y'all. I'm back from a long long break. It was totally unexpected, but I've now realized that it was also much needed. Our design jobs tend to become overwhelming in the fall. Summer fluff jobs start wrapping up and then our big, multi-year jobs start to come to an end (or at least we push them to)! In September I installed my biggest project to date, a total makeover of the downstairs of a 1930s home here in Houston. It was such a unique project! Then I had to turn around to immediately pull together a whole house that needed to be installed before Christmas... in California! I had my work cut out for me.

So 2013 came and went, and instead of taking a mental break to begin 2014 and get back into the swing of things, I actually signed myself (and in turn the bf) up for something on a whim.. fostering dogs! I follow a few rescue groups on Facebook, and when one group posted a picture of a calm black lab in animal control, scheduled to be euthanized in 2 days unless they had a foster for this pup to go stay with... well, I did the unthinkable. I volunteered as tribute, errrr as foster. Volunteered to foster. And I haven't looked back since. I can honestly say that being involved with this rescue group has impacted my life like nothing else. I've meet so many other volunteers and fosters who are also incredibly passionate about helping out animals in need and I've fostered 4 dogs who went on to their forever homes!
