HAPPY WEEKEND!

via
It's Friday my friends! So excited the weekend (and a miniature cold front) are here! Our usual weekend plans are to take Lola to the dog park but this weekend we're also throwing a trip to Uchi (favorite restaurant in Houston- must try the brussels sprouts if you've never been!) and an Astros game into the mix. Oh ya, and finally having some people over to our new place for Cinco de Mayo!! I don't think our house will ever be "finished" but I'm too eager to wait. I want to enjoy the great weather with some friends and serve some margaritas! I found this great recipe from The Glitter Guide (love their blog!) for a margarita without the store bought mix, and I can't wait to try it!

Ingredients:
1.5 parts tequila
1.5 parts triple sec (It’s worth springing for Cointreau)
1 part FRESH lime juice
Splash of FRESH orange juice
Splash of club soda
Agave syrup (as desired)
Fine salt

Directions:
Prep your glasses by slicing a lime and rubbing it on the edge. Dip edge in salt and let dry. Mix tequila, triple sec and lime juice with ice in a shaker. Pour over ice in glasses. Add a splash of fresh O.J and club soda. If you like a sweeter margarita add a bit of agave syrup to taste. Garnish with a lime. Cheers!

Also, I don't think I've properly introduced Lola... She is everything! And she enjoys some wonderful things in life, including chasing squirrels and swimming. Here she is at the Buffalo Bayou Dog Park and enjoying a swim in the pool! As the Chive says, "life's tough, get a dog".
